Privacy policy

This policy explains how Math with Modus (“Modus”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data on mathwithmodus.com, including the Dutch pages under /nl. It covers this marketing website only. The Modus learning product is still in development and is not covered here until it has its own policy.

1. Who we are

Math with Modus is a digital maths learning partner for students in the second and third grade of Flemish secondary school. For the GDPR, the controller of personal data processed through this website is the operator of Math with Modus, contactable at hello@mathwithmodus.com.

We are based in Belgium. If you need our registered company name, address or company number, email us and we will provide them.

2. What this website does

This is a static marketing site. It does not create user accounts, take payments or run the tutoring product itself. You can read about Modus, switch language, and optionally join a waitlist.

3. Data we collect and why

Waitlist questionnaire. If you use “Try Modus first”, you are sent to a form hosted by Tally (English form or Dutch form). We receive the answers you submit so we can follow up about early access, a short interview or our pilot. That typically includes contact details and what you or your child needs with maths, plus how you want to take part. Legal basis: your consent when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in contacting people who asked to hear from us.

Email. If you write to hello@mathwithmodus.com, we process the address and content of that message to reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you, or taking steps at your request before a possible contract.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-R8105CYXPR) to see how the site is used: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, language, and referring site. Google may set cookies or similar identifiers. This only runs after you click Accept on the cookie bar. Legal basis: your consent. If you click Reject, we do not load Google Analytics. You can change your choice by resetting cookies here, clearing this site’s data in your browser, or emailing us.

Hosting logs. The site is served from Google Cloud Storage behind a Google Cloud load balancer. Request logs may include IP address, user agent, date/time and the page requested. We use this to operate and secure the site. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running a reliable, secure website.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Who we share data with

We use processors who help us run the site:

Tally (Tally, Belgium) hosts the waitlist form and stores submissions for us.
Google (Google Cloud and Google Analytics) hosts the website and provides analytics. Google Ireland Limited is typically the contracting entity in the EEA; some processing may take place in the United States or other countries.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If we ever transfer the project to another organisation, waitlist and contact data may move with it under the same purposes.

5. Transfers outside the EEA

Google may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, Google relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where it applies, and otherwise on Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary measures. Tally is a Belgian company; see Tally’s privacy policy for how they handle form data.

6. How long we keep data

Waitlist answers: until you ask us to delete them, or until 24 months after our last useful contact about early access, interviews or the pilot, whichever comes first.
Emails: as long as needed to handle the conversation, then a limited archive if we still need it to evidence what was agreed or to handle a complaint.
Google Analytics: only if you accepted analytics cookies, then according to the retention setting in our GA4 property (Google’s default is 2 or 14 months of event-level data).
Hosting logs: typically a short period needed to operate and secure the site.

7. Children

Modus is aimed at students in the second and third grade of secondary school, and at parents and teachers who support them. This website is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us or to submit the form.

A parent or teacher may tell us about a student’s maths needs so we can follow up on early access or the pilot. We do not create student accounts on this marketing site, and we do not ask for extra identifiers such as a national registry number.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

access the personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy;
correct inaccurate data;
delete your data;
restrict or object to certain processing, including analytics;
receive data you provided in a portable format, where that right applies;
withdraw consent for the waitlist or for analytics. That does not affect processing already done.

Email hello@mathwithmodus.com. We may need to verify that the request comes from you. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), or with the authority in your country of residence.

9. Security

We use HTTPS, restrict who can access waitlist and email inboxes, and rely on our processors’ security measures. No internet transmission is completely secure.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes will be reflected on this page.

Dit beleid legt uit hoe Math with Modus (“Modus”, “wij”) persoonsgegevens verzamelt en gebruikt op mathwithmodus.com, inclusief de Nederlandstalige pagina’s onder /nl. Het geldt alleen voor deze marketingwebsite. Het leerproduct Modus is nog in ontwikkeling en valt hier niet onder tot het een eigen beleid heeft.

1. Wie wij zijn

Math with Modus is een digitale leerpartner voor wiskunde, gericht op leerlingen in de tweede en derde graad van het Vlaams secundair onderwijs. Voor de GDPR is de verwerkingsverantwoordelijke van persoonsgegevens via deze website de uitbater van Math with Modus, bereikbaar via hello@mathwithmodus.com.

Wij zijn gevestigd in België. Als je onze officiële bedrijfsnaam, adres of ondernemingsnummer nodig hebt, mail ons en we bezorgen die gegevens.

2. Wat deze website doet

Dit is een statische marketingwebsite. Ze maakt geen gebruikersaccounts aan, neemt geen betalingen aan en draait het begeleidingsproduct zelf niet. Je kan Modus leren kennen, van taal wisselen en optioneel op een wachtlijst gaan.

3. Welke gegevens we verzamelen en waarom

Wachtlijstvragenlijst. Als je “Probeer Modus als eerste” gebruikt, ga je naar een formulier van Tally (Nederlandse of Engelse versie). Wij ontvangen je antwoorden om je te contacteren over early access, een kort interview of onze pilot. Dat gaat typisch over contactgegevens, wat jij of je kind nodig heeft bij wiskunde, en hoe je wil deelnemen. Rechtsgrond: jouw toestemming wanneer je het formulier indient, en ons gerechtvaardigd belang om mensen te contacteren die daar om vroegen.

E-mail. Als je naar hello@mathwithmodus.com schrijft, verwerken we het adres en de inhoud van dat bericht om te antwoorden. Rechtsgrond: gerechtvaardigd belang om je te beantwoorden, of stappen op jouw verzoek voorafgaand aan een mogelijke overeenkomst.

Analyse. We gebruiken Google Analytics 4 (meet-ID G-R8105CYXPR) om te zien hoe de site wordt gebruikt: bekeken pagina’s, een ruwe locatie op basis van IP-adres, toestel- en browsertype, taal en verwijzende site. Google kan cookies of vergelijkbare identificatoren plaatsen. Dit gebeurt pas nadat je Aanvaarden kiest in de cookiebalk. Rechtsgrond: jouw toestemming. Als je Weigeren kiest, laden we Google Analytics niet. Je kan je keuze wijzigen door cookies hier te resetten, de gegevens van deze site in je browser te wissen, of ons te mailen.

Hostinglogs. De site staat op Google Cloud Storage achter een Google Cloud load balancer. Requestlogs kunnen IP-adres, user agent, datum/tijd en de opgevraagde pagina bevatten. We gebruiken dat om de site te laten werken en te beveiligen. Rechtsgrond: gerechtvaardigd belang bij een betrouwbare, veilige website.

We verkopen je persoonsgegevens niet.

4. Met wie we gegevens delen

We gebruiken verwerkers die ons helpen de site te runnen:

Tally (Tally, België) host het wachtlijstformulier en bewaart inzendingen voor ons.
Google (Google Cloud en Google Analytics) host de website en levert analyse. In de EER is Google Ireland Limited doorgaans de contractpartij; sommige verwerking kan in de Verenigde Staten of andere landen gebeuren.

We kunnen gegevens ook bekendmaken als de wet dat vereist, of om rechtsvorderingen in te stellen, uit te oefenen of te verdedigen. Als we het project ooit overdragen aan een andere organisatie, kunnen wachtlijst- en contactgegevens meeverhuizen voor dezelfde doelen.

5. Doorgifte buiten de EER

Google kan gegevens verwerken buiten de Europese Economische Ruimte. Waar dat gebeurt, steunt Google op het EU-VS Data Privacy Framework waar dat van toepassing is, en anders op standaardcontractbepalingen en aanvullende maatregelen. Tally is een Belgisch bedrijf; zie het privacybeleid van Tally voor hoe zij formuliergegevens behandelen.

6. Hoe lang we gegevens bewaren

Wachtlijstantwoorden: tot je om verwijdering vraagt, of tot 24 maanden na ons laatste zinvolle contact over early access, interviews of de pilot, wat het eerst komt.
E-mails: zolang nodig om het gesprek af te handelen, daarna een beperkte archivering als we die nog nodig hebben om afspraken te bewijzen of een klacht te behandelen.
Google Analytics: alleen als je analytische cookies hebt aanvaard, daarna volgens de bewaarinstelling in onze GA4-property (de standaard van Google is 2 of 14 maanden eventgegevens).
Hostinglogs: doorgaans een korte periode die nodig is om de site te runnen en te beveiligen.

7. Minderjarigen

Modus richt zich op leerlingen in de tweede en derde graad, en op ouders en leerkrachten die hen ondersteunen. Deze website is niet bedoeld voor kinderen jonger dan 13 jaar. Ben je jonger dan 13, vraag dan een ouder of voogd om ons te contacteren of het formulier in te dienen.

Een ouder of leerkracht mag ons iets vertellen over de wiskundenoden van een leerling, zodat we kunnen opvolgen over early access of de pilot. We maken op deze marketingwebsite geen leerlingenaccounts aan, en we vragen geen extra identificatoren zoals een rijksregisternummer.

8. Jouw rechten

Onder de GDPR kan je ons vragen om:

inzage in de persoonsgegevens die we over je bijhouden, en een kopie;
onjuiste gegevens te corrigeren;
je gegevens te wissen;
bepaalde verwerking te beperken of ertegen bezwaar te maken, inclusief analyse;
gegevens die je ons gaf in een overdraagbaar formaat te ontvangen, waar dat recht geldt;
toestemming voor de wachtlijst of voor analyse in te trekken. Dat heeft geen invloed op verwerking die al gebeurd is.

Mail hello@mathwithmodus.com. We kunnen vragen om te bevestigen dat het verzoek van jou komt. Je hebt ook het recht een klacht in te dienen bij de Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, of bij de autoriteit in je woonland.

9. Beveiliging

We gebruiken HTTPS, beperken wie bij wachtlijst en inbox kan, en steunen op de beveiliging van onze verwerkers. Geen internetverzending is volledig veilig.

10. Wijzigingen

We kunnen dit beleid aanpassen als onze praktijken veranderen. De datum “Laatst bijgewerkt” bovenaan wijzigt dan. Materiële wijzigingen komen op deze pagina.
